CHOICE

Choice is waiting for you at the crossroads. To choose or not to choose, that is the question. You are needing to exercise your will in the situation before you. There is only one way to get through it. You could try to avoid having to choose or numb it out with a vice. Or you could consciously choose what is happening as the best thing that could happen to you and go thorugh it clearly, cleanly and with emotional sobriety. This is the time to make your choice.

We are presented with challenging situations in our lives in order to grow. It is through encountering and besting our so called nemeses that we become the wise old crones we are needed to be; a resource for our community and world. There is no way to evade things that press, grind or gnaw. What we can do is choose how we are going to be and what use we are going to make of everything we are handed.

Do you have cupboards filled with the latest and best avoidance techniques for all occasions? Time to clean them out. Are you panicked and fearful when confronted with the need to choose? Time to make choice your ally. Perhaps you live a preordained life: proscribed by your parents, society, the church, your spouse, whatever, where you have never looked a decision in the eye or had to make a choice? Time for empowerment. Do you feel that you have no choice? Time to recognise, realise and recover the power of choice in every moment of your life.
